Stand with your weight evenly distributed while another person marks the paper.

Step by step

Find your footwear size

You need paper, a pencil, a ruler and a helper.

Heels to the wall

Setup

Place two sheets of paper against a straight wall. Stand with both heels lightly touching the wall and keep the paper flat.

Trace both feet

Trace

Ask a helper to hold the pencil upright and trace closely around each foot without angling the pencil beneath the toes.

Heel to longest toe

Length

Measure each outline from the wall or heel line to the tip of its longest toe. Keep the ruler straight along the length of the foot.

Widest part

Width

Measure straight across the widest part of each forefoot. Use this only when the product offers a width fitting or asks for foot width.

Use the longer foot

Choose

Measure twice and choose the size from the longer result. If you fall between sizes, check the product’s fit notes or ask us before ordering.

UK, EU and foot-length conversions vary between makers and shoe lasts. Check the actual sizes and fit notes on the product; do not assume that every half size is available. Send us the product name, both foot lengths and your usual well-fitting shoe size if no maker-specific chart is shown.

For women’s or unisex footwear, use that product’s own chart. A men’s conversion must not be used to choose a women’s size.

Which sizes are available?

Sizes run from US 6, UK 5.5, EU 39 to US 15, UK 14.5, EU 48-49.

Tartan & colour

Will the colours look exactly like the photos?

Screen settings, lighting, woven materials and pattern placement can cause small, reasonable differences in colour, texture or where the pattern falls. Measurements and dimensions are approximate unless the product or a written confirmation says otherwise.

What do "Ancient" and "Modern" mean in a tartan name?

They are colour shades of the same sett. Ancient uses softer, lighter tones and Modern uses deeper, stronger tones. The pattern itself is the same.

My tartan is not listed. Can you help?

Often, yes. We can weave a tartan no mill stocks, from a photo, scan, sketch or thread count. Asking for a quote is free.

When will my order be dispatched?

Ready-to-dispatch and made-to-order products have different preparation times. Made-to-measure and personalised items may not enter production until your measurements, choices and other details are complete. Orders with mixed lead times may ship together when the longest item is ready, or separately.

I need it for a wedding or event. Can you meet my date?

Contact us before ordering so we can advise whether your date looks achievable. Production, dispatch and carrier times are estimates unless we confirm a fixed date in writing.

How much is delivery?

Available delivery services and the final charge are shown at checkout once you enter your address. Any free-shipping offer applies only while it is displayed and checkout confirms your order qualifies.

Will I pay customs or import duties?

International deliveries may be subject to customs, import duties, taxes or carrier charges set by the destination. Unless checkout states they are included, the recipient pays them.
