Fit & measurements

Choose your coverage and drape

Choosing a tartan shawl, sash or scarf

Choose the tartan in the product options, then check this piece's stated dimensions and material. A shawl, scarf, sash, stole or ruana is chosen by its finished size and the way you want to wear it.

Check the dimensions
Accessory: finished fabric dimensions. Finished width; Finished length
Tap the diagram to open it full size. Each measurement is also explained in the readable instructions below.
1

Shawls, stoles and ruanas

Compare the stated width and length with a wrap you already like. Consider shoulder coverage, how far the piece will hang, and whether you want room to layer it over a coat. Check the product details for its shape and any hood or fastening.

2

Scarves

Use a scarf you own to judge your preferred length for draping, looping or tying. Check the stated dimensions rather than assuming every scarf is the same size.

3

Sashes

Use a flexible tape along the intended wearing path, from the shoulder across the body, to judge the drape you want. Compare that with the product's finished length. Check whether a brooch or fastening is included.

4

Tartan and order notes

Select the exact tartan and colourway you want. Ancient, Modern, Hunting, Dress and Weathered are different choices. The displayed option charge is added to the product price. Use Additional Information for a question or special request; a note does not confirm that a custom size or design is available.

Options & customising

Can I add notes or special instructions?

Yes. Use the Additional Information box. Share any relevant sizing, tartan, or customisation notes for your order.

Tartan & colour

Will the colours look exactly like the photos?

Screen settings, lighting, woven materials and pattern placement can cause small, reasonable differences in colour, texture or where the pattern falls. Measurements and dimensions are approximate unless the product or a written confirmation says otherwise.

What do "Ancient" and "Modern" mean in a tartan name?

They are colour shades of the same sett. Ancient uses softer, lighter tones and Modern uses deeper, stronger tones. The pattern itself is the same.

My tartan is not listed. Can you help?

Often, yes. We can weave a tartan no mill stocks, from a photo, scan, sketch or thread count. Asking for a quote is free.

Making & delivery

Can I get this item faster?

Yes. Tick Rush Order for "7-10 Day Delivery", which adds 17,55 €. Choose rush production only when needed. The displayed surcharge is added to the product price. If you need it for a fixed date, contact us before ordering.

When will my order be dispatched?

Ready-to-dispatch and made-to-order products have different preparation times. Made-to-measure and personalised items may not enter production until your measurements, choices and other details are complete. Orders with mixed lead times may ship together when the longest item is ready, or separately.

I need it for a wedding or event. Can you meet my date?

Contact us before ordering so we can advise whether your date looks achievable. Production, dispatch and carrier times are estimates unless we confirm a fixed date in writing.

How much is delivery?

Available delivery services and the final charge are shown at checkout once you enter your address. Any free-shipping offer applies only while it is displayed and checkout confirms your order qualifies.

Will I pay customs or import duties?

International deliveries may be subject to customs, import duties, taxes or carrier charges set by the destination. Unless checkout states they are included, the recipient pays them.
